The Wahpeton basketball teams swept Lisbon in a Region 1 doubleheader Saturday. 

The Lady Huskies bucked the Broncos, 61-22, and the Husky boys scraped out a 57-54 road win to finish the twin bill.

The Lady Huskies were led by Piper Nelson’s 17 points on 3-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Halle Miller and Scout Woods scored 13 each.

Sienna Fobb was also a factor, contributing seven rebounds, four assists and three steals from the center position. 

The Lady Huskies improved to 3-4 and Lisbon fell to 2-6.

The Wahpeton boys received a season-high 19 points from Bjorn Kubela. The senior scorched Lisbon on 8-of-12 shooting while adding six boards and a game-high three steals. Kubela made all six of his attempts from inside the arc.

Freshman guard Jack Gilbertson dropped 15 points, Brayden Steffens scored nine and Jackson DeVries supplied six. 

Wahpeton improved to 3-1 while handing the 4-1 Broncos their first loss of the season.
