The Breckenridge-Wahpeton Blades hockey team lost to No. 19-ranked River Lakes on Friday in a 5-4 overtime battle. It was the fourth straight loss for the Blades and their fourth OT defeat of the season. Breckenridge-Wahpeton is 1-4-1 in overtime games.
Easton Neppl netted a pair of goals for the Blades, while Kai McDonald and Jaxson Lopez scored one each. McDonald, Lopez and Josh Hofman tallied one assist apiece.
Jace Griffin scored two goals for the Stars. Blake Schultz, Eric Paulson and Evan Jones tallied one goal each.
Cale Gilbertson had a respectable night in net, stopping 27 of 32 shots on goal. Devin Swanson got the win for River Lakes while letting up four goals on 19 shots.
B-W is now 4-8-1 and River Lakes is 8-2-2.
