The B-W Bolts swim team kicked off its short course season with a few athletes attending a meet in West Fargo this past Sunday. It was the first meet for new swimmers Annie Isom and Isabelle Nelson and they performed like veterans. Returning swimmers also performed very well, showing improved times from last season.
In the 9-10 age group, Inga Dohman placed third in 50 backstroke and sixth in 50 free.  Kialie Brevik was fourth in 50 back, sixth in 50 butterfly and seventh in 50 free.
Isabelle Nelson finished 13th in 50 back and 22nd in 50 free, with Annie Isom right behind her at 14th place in 50 back.
Milo Selstedt, age 13, started off with an impressive runner-up swim in 100 breaststroke, qualifying for state in that event. He followed up with a strong victory in the 100 back. He also improved his state-qualifying 50 free time in a silver showing.
The Bolts will compete in West Fargo next Friday evening, and will host a Turkey Bingo fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 23 at Wahpeton Community Center.
