A vehicle submerged in a slough was found unoccupied near Hankinson and the driver was found after leaving the scene.
The call came in shortly before 7 p.m. Friday and the vehicle was spotted in the slough off of County Road 22 a half mile east of County Road 21. The vehicle still had the headlights and taillights on when it was discovered.
The driver was found at a nearby residence and the crash is under investigation by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. Other agencies on scene included Hankinson Fire Department and the Richland County Water Rescue team.
