The final North Dakota Class “2A” high school football rankings are in ahead of Friday’s playoff openers.

The Wahpeton Huskies (5-4) cracked the rankings for the first time this season following a 35-9 victory vs. Grand Forks Central to end the regular season.

Wahpeton, the third-highest scoring team in the Eastern Dakota Conference among 2A schools, enters the postseason averaging 28.2 points per game.

Undefeated Grand Forks Red River held down the top spot for the 11th consecutive week, followed by West Fargo Horace, Minot North and Jamestown.

The rankings are voted on by a panel of media members from the North Dakota Associated Press Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

No. 3 seed Wahpeton travels to Valley City on Friday to face the No. 2 seed Hi-Liners from the West Division. Pregame is scheduled for 6:30 followed by a 7:00 kickoff on AM 1450 and KBMW News Live YouTube.
