
Breckenridge eliminated New York Mills from the Section 6A volleyball playoffs in four sets Friday at Breckenridge High School. Breckenridge survived a lopsided 13-25 loss in set two, winning three others by scores of 27-25, 25-18, 25-23. Katlyn Kaehler led the Cowgirls attack with 17 kills for the second straight match. Erin Blaufuss stepped up with a career game, depositing 16 kills in the middle.
Kolle Schuler scored three aces and Mariah Koltes had six block assists. Sydni Roberts and Karsyn Neppl collected 25 and 21 digs, respectively.
The setter combo of Parker Yaggie (24 assists, 16 digs) and Kolle Schuler (19 assists, 14 digs) registered double-doubles as Breckenridge improved to 25-4.
No. 1 seed Breckenridge will face No. 2 seed Hillcrest Lutheran Academy at Fergus Falls High School on Tuesday. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m. on B 92.7 FM. The Cowgirls and the Comets are a combined 30-2 against section opponents this season.
