Former NDSCS wide receiver Marselio Mendez, now starring as a senior at St. Johns University, recorded his 40th college receiving touchdown Saturday as the No. 4 Johnnies defeated No. 24 Bethel by a score of 45-20. Mendez finished the game with 5 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
In two seasons at NDSCS from 2021-23, Mendez racked up a national-best 28 receiving scores, helping the Wildcats to their first national championship berth. Mendez finished his NDSCS career with 1,718 yards on 99 receptions, averaging 81.8 yards per game.
