Malane Renae Brandenburger, 65

Malane Renae (Griggs) Brandenburger, age 65, of rural Richland County, ND, was called home to heaven on September 29, 2024, in the presence of her loved ones at St. Catherine’s Living Center in Wahpeton, ND. 
    Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt. 
    The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND, with Fr. Paul Kuhn officiating. Music will be provided by Kay King and the St. John’s Choir.  
    Interment will be at a later date at the Fairmount Cemetery, next to those she has loved and cherished.
    Malane was born May 12, 1959, in Breckenridge, MN, to Merrill and Marlys (Hooge) Griggs.  She attended school in Fairmount, graduating from Fairmount High School in 1977. 
    Malane married Dean Paul Brandenburger on June 3, 1978, at the First English Lutheran Church in Fairmount, ND, and were married for 46 years. They have three loving children, Craig, David, and Renae.   
    Malane was an artistically gifted free spirit who touched countless lives with her love of the arts in many different areas.  A talented seamstress, she designed and sewed clothing, including performing clothing repairs and alterations.  Her designs were featured on many Veblen-Rosholt Raiders attire throughout the years.  She sewed vestments and sewed and painted decorations for local churches as well as designing and painting items for the Rosholt, SD, threshing bee and car shows in the area.  
    Malane worked in floral arrangements and baked and decorated cakes for countless birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other events. She was an avid photographer who could often be seen with a camera in her hand at events, capturing lifelong memories for everyone in attendance.  Malane also instilled a love of gardening with her children and canned, froze, and preserved anything she could grow and serve throughout her years.
    Those Remaining to cherish Malane’s memory are her husband, Dean; children, Craig (Nikki) Brandenburger of Fargo, David (Kay) Brandenburger of Rosholt, and Renae (Danny) O’Meara of Fairmount; grandchildren, Grace, Gavin, Grant, Graham, Noah, Nick, Elias, and Micah; brother, Marlon (Kristi) Griggs of Roseville, MN; nieces and nephews, Allison, Amber, Abigail, Aubrey, Gary, Megan, Katie, Derek, Michelle, and Melissa; and Godson, Nicholas.
    Preceding Malane in death are her parents, Merrill and Marlys; father and mother-in law, Paul and Marlene Brandenburger; sister, Mellicent; brother, Marcus; and nephew, Travis.
