Post 20 bat girl Windy Kappes is hoisted into the air after Wahpeton wins its annual home tournament to begin the American Legion Baseball season. Wahpeton went on to sweep the Perham Tournament, and now, enters the region tournament as one of the favorites.

Wahpeton Post 20 is the No. 2 seed in this week’s East Division Tournament at Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo. Post 20 will play the winner of tonight’s matchup between the No. 7 seed Fargo Jets and No. 10 seed Fargo Comets. Wahpeton’s first-round game will broadcast Thursday on B 92.7 FM at 5 p.m.

Wahpeton, the defending North Dakota Class ‘A’ State Champion, takes a 23-6 record into the region tourney with a .314 team average and a 3.25 ERA. Post 20 has outscored opponents 204-114 this season.
