
Wahpeton Post 20 suffered its first east region loss in 35 games Saturday during a home split against Devils Lake. Hunter Remmick delivered a 2-run homer late in game one, vaulting Devils Lake to a 5-4 victory over the defending North Dakota Class ‘A’ State Champions.
Wahpeton regrouped and handled business in game two, earning a 4-1 win behind a complete-game, three-hitter on the mound from Caden Kappes. The super senior racked up 10 strikeouts in his third consecutive complete game.
Nick Langenwalter batted 3-for-3 with a run in the nightcap.
Aiden Hajek and Jackson Fliflet each hit triples. For the second straight evening, Fliflet delighted the crowd to a little league home run, scoring after an errant throw to third on his triple.
Wahpeton is now 17-2 on the season and Devils Lake is 11-5.
