Breckenridge extended their spring ball season with a 4-3 victory over Upsala-Swanville on Tuesday in Clarissa.

Breckenridge struck first when Trey Vogelbacher scored on an error in the top of the second. Upsala came back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

The Cowboys got two of their own in the fifth when Logan Church scored on a base rip by Connor Ernst. An error allowed Paul Armitage to score to give the lead back to Breck.

The Patriots once again answered in the same inning, tying the game at 3.

Ernst and Church replicated their magic with another RBI single in the top of the sixth with two outs to give the Cowboys the one-run victory. Church also had three singles on the day to go along with his pair of runs.

Vogelbacher went all seven innings on the hill for Breckenridge, scattering nine hits while striking out six. He beamed one batter and didn’t walk anyone.

The 10-11 Breckenridge squad was scheduled to play Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 5 p.m. Tuesday, but due to weather the game was postponed to Wednesday.
