
The Breckenridge-Wahpeton Storm softball team held its awards banquet on Tuesday. Senior pitcher Mia Dodge was selected as Co-Most Valuable Player of the Heart O’ Lakes Conference. She was also selected to the all-section team. Dodge finished the spring with a 2.82 ERA across 104 innings pitch. She posted 106 strikeouts, a new program record, and walked 25 batters.
Sophomore infielder/catcher Adi Dodge was named to the all-conference squad and nominated for MSHSL Class 1A all-state consideration. Dodge, the younger sister of Mia, batted a blistering .476 with 19 singles, 9 doubles, 2 home runs and a triple. The slugger added 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored while striking out just once in 65 at-bats despite her aggressive approach at the plate.
All-conference honorable mentions included Jocelyn Riebe and Sydni Roberts.
Riebe, a center fielder, had 28 putouts in 29 chances for a .960 fielding percentage. Roberts, a utility player, posted a .900 fielding percentage at the shortstop and catcher positions, while also hitting two home runs.
The following team awards were announced: Sydni Roberts, Gold Glove, Adi Dodge, Silver Slugger, Collyn Hought, Most Improved, Mia Dodge, MVP, Jocelyn Riebe, Dedication Attitude Heart Loyalty Award.
Mia Dodge and Sydni Roberts were honored as team captains.
