The NDSCS Wildcats baseball team won its spring opener Friday vs. Bottineau by a score of 11-1. Bottineau stormed back to win the final three games of the weekend series by scores of 6-4, 6-5 and 12-2. Statistics from the Mon-Dak Conference matchup were not available. NDSCS is now 4-10 overall on the season.

Prior to the weekend series, Mason Allmaras of Kindred was leading the Wildcats with a .515 batting average, 17 hits and 13 RBIs. Tori Uhlich of Wahpeton was batting .469 while leading NDSCS with one home run, 18 runs scored and 15 stolen bases.

The No. 1-ranked NDSCS softball team completed its weekend home sweep of Dakota Bottineau, mauling the Jacks on Sunday by scores of 18-1 and 28-0. The Wildcats collected 42 hits during Sunday’s sweep. Overall, NDSCS outscored Bottineau 72-4 on the weekend, hitting 10 home runs to improve their season record to 25-7 and running their win streak to 14 games.

Avery Martin, Lara Dolezal and TK Landes mashed multiple homers, while Lillyan Hamilton also left the park. The Wildcat pitching staff allowed just five runs across four games. Grace Folkema (11-3) pitched a one-hitter and Emma Johnson (14-4) tossed a two-hitter.
