The Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s basketball team, who missed a trip to the NCAA National Tournament, ended their season with a second-round loss to Indiana State at the NIT on Sunday, an invitational tournament for teams who were not awarded an at-large bid to the big dance.

The Sycamores defeated the Gophers, 76-64, behind 23 points from Ryan Conwell and 16 each for Julian Larry and Jayson Kent.

The 19-15 Gophers were outmatched by a 30-6 Indiana State squad who many labeled the biggest snub from the NCAA National Tournament. Sophomore forward Pharell Payne led the Gophers with 16 points.
