The track and field season began for multiple teams Saturday at Concordia College. 

Both of the Wahpeton teams finished third in team points as Fargo Shanley’s two teams both took first at the indoor event. 

For the Wahpeton boys, Treyton Mauch won the 55-meter dash (6.77) and high jump (5-feet-8-inches) and the 4×400 came in first (3:51) as well. Mauch also took fifth in the 200 (24.65). 

Jackson DeVries finished second in high jump (5-feet-8-inches) while also placing fourth in the 200 (24.43) and fifth in the 55 (6.99). 

Jaida Fobb had a strong showing for the Lady Huskies, finishing first in the 400 and second in high jump (5 feet). Scout Woods was a first-place finisher as well with a throw of 38-feet-3-inches. The 4×200 relay finished first in 1:55.58. 

Taylor Mauch was the first runner up with a time of 7.83 in the 55-meter dash. 

Placing at the meet from Richland were Lila Viele who had a first-place showing in high jump with a leap of 5-feet-2-inches while also tying her teammate Abbie Fischer with a height of 7-feet-6-inches to win pole vault, Nick Wulfekuhle had a second-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles (8.85) and also a fourth-place in triple jump (35-feet-1.75-inches) and Isabel Viele took sixth in 55-meter hurdles (10.85). 

Wyndmere-Lidgerwood’s Tommy Baldwin won the 200-meter dash in 23.94 and was also the first runner up in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.79. Chase Cooper won the shot put for the Warbirds with a toss of 46-feet-1.25-inches. 

Olivia Frolek was the lone runner for the 1600 (6:02.01) and finished third in the 800 (2:38.63). Grace Wolf came in fourth for high jump (4-feet-6-inches) and Samantha Dotzenrod finished sixth in shot put (31-feet-6.5-inches).
