At the last chance meet before state, the B-W Bolts swim team gave it their all in a smaller meet at Fargo Davies. The athletes had many swims with short rest so endurance played a role in their times, yet they continued to see improved marks and recorded more qualifying events.
Maddy Beyer held her qualifying times to place 1st in 50 breaststroke, 100 individual medley and 500 freestyle. Linnea Burgr grabbed 2nd in 100 butterfly, 3rd in 200 medley and 200 free, and 4th in 100 free.
Milo Selstedt showed nice time drops in all his events, qualifying the 200 backstroke for state and 50 breast for regionals. He won the 50 breast, 100 medley, 100 back and 100 breast, with a runner-up time in 200 back and 3rd in 50 butterfly and 50 back, all state-qualifying.
Isla Burgr also swam strong trying to pick up a few more qualifying events, she did drop time, just missing the mark in those events, placing 4th in 50 back and 5th in 100 free. Aiden Henningson significantly improved his breast stroke to place fifth in the 50 and 6th in the 100, he also picked up 6th in 50 and 100 back, 10th-100 free, and 12th-50 free.
Charlie Mertes had nice time drops in all 7 events placing 4th in 50 breast and 100 free, 5th in 100 breast, 6th in 50 free, 7th in 100 back and 50 butterfly and 8th in 50 back.
Evelyn Mertes also showed nice improvement in all her events to place 3rd in 50 breast, 5th in 100 medley and 100 breast , 8th in 50 butterfly, 50 free and100 free, 10th in 50 back. Thea Gebhardt pushed through many tough events for a 9-year-old, placing 3rd in 100 back, 5th in 100 free, 6th in 50 free and 50 butterfly, 7th in 100 free and 8th in 50 back.
