The Breckenridge Cowgirls basketball team won its opening playoff game Thursday vs. Parkers Prairie by a score of 79-46 at home. 

Breckenridge was led by 23 points from Parker Yaggie and 19 from Emily Gowin. Piper Jaehning added 10 points and Sydni Roberts supplied nine in the convincing victory. Evy Grinager led the Panthers with 20 points.

The No. 2 seed Cowgirls (15-12) advance to play No. 3 seed West Central Area (17-10) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Minnewaska. WCA defeated Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Thursday, 70-43.
