In its first year of competition, the Breckenridge-Wahpeton Storm girls wrestling team has a state qualifier. Claire Lathrop made history when she became the first female wrestler to reach the state tournament wearing a Storm singlet. Lathrop, a freshman, enters the tournament with an 8-13 record. She will wrestle top-seeded Emily Novak of Grand Forks, a junior grappler with a 31-1 record. The North Dakota boys and girls state wrestling tournament takes place Thursday and Friday at the FargoDome.
