The Breckenridge football team had their season come to an end in the Section 6A Semifinals on Saturday at Cowboy Field with a 26-18 loss to New York Mills.

Breckenridge took a 12-0 lead into halftime off a couple of short-yardage scores from Cowboy quarterback Bailey Evans.

The Cowboy defense was lights out in the opening half forcing four turnovers. Evans and Dawson Wienbar each had an interception while Trey Vogelbacher and Alan Martinez both recovered fumbles.

Teagan Lausten broke free for a 55-yard score on the first play of the third quarter. The eagles tacked on two more touchdowns, outscoring the Cowboys 20-0 in the third.

After another Eagles touchdown, Breckenridge put together their final scoring drive of the season. Evans found Wienbar for 12-yard touchdown.

Breckenridge would turn it over on downs on their final drive, allowing New York Mills to run out the clock.

The Cowboys end their season with a record of 5-5.
