Wahpeton Post 20 accomplished their mission and are bringing home a state championship.
Wahpeton only needed six innings to claim their second state title in the last three years, routing tournament host Kindred with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday.
Caden Kappes was named Tournament MVP and in his final showing of the season he went 2-4 with two RBIs and a run.
Caden Hockert threw a one-hitter, striking out five batters in the six-inning game.
Jack Rittenour drove in three runs and Tori Uhlich had a couple RBIs as well.
Jayden King, Gavin Schroeder and Hockert each came in for two runs.
The state title is Post 20’s fourth in Class A and their sixth total for American Legion baseball.
Wahpeton ends the season with a record of 36-4.
