Wahpeton High School Principal Ned Clooten has accepted a job offer to become the next superintendent of Devils Lake Public Schools.
Clooten’s resignation was accepted by the Wahpeton School Board and he is expected to start in Devils Lake Aug. 1.
The school district’s prior superintendent, Matt Bakke, resigned in June to take a job with Grand Grand Forks Public Schools.
Clooten is required to pay a $2,000 penalty for breaching his contract with Wahpeton Public Schools.
