Wahpeton goes 2-2 in home tournament

The Wahpeton Post 20 baseball team went 2-2 in their home tournament over the weekend.

Post 20 opened the round robin tournament Friday with a 10-1 win over Fergus Falls.

Jayden King had the big bat with a homer and another RBI base hit in the victory.

Caden Hockert picked up the complete game win in five innings.

Saturday saw Wahpeton fall in a pair of tight games to LaMoure and East Grand Forks by scores of 5-4 and 6-5, respectively.

Jayden King’s homer against LaMoure was the highlight of that matchup.

Post 20 closed the tournament Sunday, cruising by Detroit Lakes 8-6.

Tori Uhlich used his three hits to bring in three runs. He also scored a run of his own.

Jayden King and Caden Kappes each had a hit and a run with King also driving in a run.

Gavin Schroeder went the first five innings with Skyler Bladow only giving up two hits in the final two innings.

LaMoure finished first in the tournament with a 3-1 record. East Grand Forks was also 3-1, but LaMoure bested them to win the tiebreaker. Detroit Lakes got their one win of the tournament against LaMoure while Fergus Falls beat DL in a 1-3 weekend.
