
Fresh off their first East Region Championship, the Wahpeton Huskies kept it rolling with a 6-0 win over Bismarck Legacy in the first round of the North Dakota State Baseball Tournament.
The Thursday victory in West Fargo saw Jayden King give up one hit in six innings of work while striking out eight. Caden Kappes and Braxton Pauly both came in to help close the two-hit shutout victory.
Kappes went 3-4 at the plate on the day, driving in two runs while scoring one of his own.
Gavin Schroeder went 2-4 with a pair of runs and Jackson Fliflet plated a pair of runs in a 1-2 performance.
The Huskies move on to the State Semfinals, which will be played at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The pregame show starts at 4:15 p.m. on KBMW.
