Wahpeton sophomore Scout Woods proved herself as the best shot putter in Class A North Dakota, winning the event with a toss of 42-feet and half an inch on Thursday in Bismarck.

Woods bested the runner-up, Katelyn Rath from Bismarck, by a full foot.

The State Meet continues today.
