Wahpeton hosts annual OJ & Dee Jensen Meet

The annual OJ & Dee Jensen Kiwanis Invitational took place in Wahpeton on Monday.

Scout Woods was a double winner for the Huskies, taking first in shot put and discus. She had a toss of 38-feet-2.5-inches and her 119-feet-4-inch discus throw was almost 20 feet more than the second-place finisher.

The Wahpeton boys also had a pair of wins in field events with Ethan Manock taking gold in discus (152-feet-8-inches) and Andrew Withuski picking up the pole vault win (12-feet-6-inches).

Jaida Fobb and Reagan Wohlers each placed in two events. Fobb was runner-up in the 400-meter dash (1:01.78) and took seventh in the 200 (28.30). Wohlers had a pair of field event finishes, claiming third place in javelin (102-feet-4-inches) and sixth in pole vault (7-feet-6-inches).

Jacob Kunkel was the top finisher for the Breckenridge teams with a fourth-place finish in high jump (6-feet). Kunkel also placed eighth in long jump with a leap of 18-feet-6-inches.

Region 1 was also represented at the meet with Richland’s Lila Viele winning the high jump with a jump of 5 feet.

The Wahpeton track teams have a meet at Fargo Shanley 2 p.m. Friday and Breckenridge’s squads head to Hawley for a 4 p.m. Thursday meet.
