The Breckenridge Cowboys took down New York Mills in their playoff opener on Monday by a score of 79-47.

The Cowboys were in the driver’s seat from the start, building a 52-19 halftime lead.

Daymon Smith was the top scorer with 17 points, tying the single-season 3-point record in the process.

Landon Blaufuss had a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. He also nabbed four steals while dishing out a trio of assists.

Alex Sanchez also hit double figures with a dozen points.

The Cowboys head to Battle Lake for a 7 p.m. Thursday matchup with the Battlers.
