The Breckenridge-Wahpeton Blade boys snapped their 37-game losing streak with a 5-4 home win over Becker-Big Lake on Saturday.

The Blades found the net three times in the opening period to take a one-goal lead into the second period. Brady DeVries got his team on the board, Kai McDonald followed with a goal of his own and Josh Hofman scored an unassisted goal.

Hofman tacked on another goal in the second period and Jack Rittenour scored what would be the game winner 12 minutes into the final period.

Andrew Withuski, who recently hit the 1,000-save milestone, stopped 25 of the 29 shots he faced.

Next up for BW is a Tuesday road game against Detroit Lakes.
