The Breckenridge Cowboys secured their first conference win of the season with a 72-55 road win over the Frazee Hornets on Thursday.

The Cowboys took a 23-point lead into halftime behind the sharpshooting of Daymon Smith, who had five triples in the opening period and 22 points. He ended the night with 25.

Alex Sanchez got a dozen of his 17 points in the second half and Landon Blaufuss went for 10 on the night, giving him a double-double with 13 rebounds.

Smith and Blaufuss each had four steals with Sanchez swiping three.

Next up for the 2-6 Cowboys is a 7:30 p.m. Tuesday home game against Perham.
