On Saturday, December 24th, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a train that struck a vehicle at crossing near 166 1/2 Avenue on 91st Street. The driver, Dean Prochnow, was traveling West on 91st and apporached the stop sign at the crossing but couldn’t stop due to the snow pack. Prochnow stated he proceeded through the crossing where a train owned by CP Rail struck Prochnow’s vehicle. Prochnow was not injured but the vehicle is a total loss.

Hankinson Fire Department and Hankinson Ambulance came to the scene and assisted. The vehicle was towed by Bruce’s Auto. The accident remains under investigation.
