The City of Wahpeton reminds residents that it is the responsibility of the owner of the property to keep the sidewalk in the Right-of-Way clear of snow and ice. The removal of snow and ice shall take place now later than 24 hours after the snow or ice has accumulated. If the property owner fails to clear the snow or ice the sidewalk within the 24 hour time frame, the City can have the snow and ice ordered removed to the City Contractor. The expense to clear snow and ice shall be charged to the owner of the property. If the property owner fails to reimburse the City for the expenses, the amount will be assessed against the property.
