Suspect in high-speed chase charged with 6 felonies

The suspect who was arrested following a high-speed chase in Wahpeton on Sunday has been identified as 20-year-old Michael Ahern Franklin.

Franklin lives in Wahpeton and has been charged with six felonies and six misdemeanors.

The felonies Franklin is charged with are theft of property valued between $10,000 and $50,000, terrorizing an adult victim, unlawful entry into a vehicle to commit a crime, fleeing a peach officer in a vehicle and creating a risk of death or serious bodily harm, theft of property valued between $1,000 and $10,000 and theft of property, possession with the property being prescription drug.

The misdemeanors are unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine and reckless endangerment, and one count each for refusal to halt, reckless driving speed and operating a vehicle on flood protective works.

Franklin is confined in the Richland County Jail.
