Cowboys fall to fifth seed following loss to Vikings

The Breckenridge Cowboys ended their regular season with a 54-25 home loss to the Pelican Rapids Vikings on Wednesday.

Timmy Guler threw for a trio of touchdown passes and also ran in two scores, ending the game with over 300 combined yards through the air and on the ground.

Breckenridge quarterback Bailey Evans broke free for a 60-yard touchdown and also plunged in for a one-yard TD. Gavin Pederson, who led the Cowboys with 150 rushing yards, also had a touchdown in the loss.

The 5-3 Cowboys dropped from the two seed to the five seed with the loss and open their postseason on the road against fourth-seeded Menahga at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
