The Breckenridge Cowboys got in the win column with a 27-8 road victory over Parkers Prairie on Friday. The Cowboys scored all of their points in the opening half and the Panthers were kept off the scoreboard until the final minutes when they got a long passing TD.

Alex Sanchez turned in a breakout performance, running for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The senior playmaker also had a scoop and score from his defensive end position.

Cam Nieto had the Cowboys’ only other score with a rushing TD. He ended the day with 79 yards on the ground, third on the team to Sanchez and Gavin Pederson who had 81.

Bailey Evans completed three passes with Sanchez hauling in two of them for 20 yards. Pederson also had a 15-yard grab.

Jacob Kunkle had an interception in the end zone to keep Parkers Prairie out of the end zone in the first half.

Next up for the 1-1 Breckenridge squad is their Homecoming Game against Frazee at 7 p.m. Friday.
