Ground spray for mosquito control will be conducted in Wahpeton on Wednesday evening from 9 p.m. to midnight.
If the spraying can’t be done due to weather, the City of Wahpeton will do the same time Thursday night.
Citizens are encouraged to take extra precautions as they continue to identify mosquitoes and birds positive with West Nile virus.
The mosquito that is most common for transmitting West Nile is the Culex tarsalis, which is most active just before sundown through early morning hours.
The product that is used to spray mosquitoes is not harmful to people, pets or gardens, but citizens are told to avoid going into the cloud omitted by the sprayer.
Questions can be directed to the City of Wahpeton Public Works Department, 642-6565.
