Wahpeton Post 20 edged a pair of one-run home victories over the West Fargo Vets on Wednesday. The wins by scores of 2-1 and 3-2.
In the first game, Gavin Schroeder had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the sixth inning. Braxton Pauly had a pair of base knocks in the low-scoring affair.
Jackson Fliflet tossed five and two-third innings, striking out four. Nick Zach closed it out, not giving up any runs.
In the nightcap, Caden Kappes laid down a bunt single to plate the game-winning run. Pauly had two hits for the second game in a row. Caden Hockert also notched a pair of base knocks.
Zach pitched for the second game in a row, picking up the win in three and two-third innings with 6 Ks.
The Wahpeton squad moves on to host the Fargo Post 400 Astros for a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Friday.
