The Wahpeton Post 20 team traveled to Fargo on Tuesday to take on the Fargo Bombers at Historic Jack Williams Stadium. Post 20 was able to come out on top, winning 6-0 and 7-0 against one of the better teams in the area.

In Game One, Head Coach Chris Kappes used a three pitcher rotation to shut out the Bombers. Caden Hockert, Caden Kappes and Nick Zach all took the mound for Post 20 in the win.  Wahpeton scored in the first inning on a RBI by Jayden King to score Tori Uhlich. In the second inning, Josiah Hofman took a fast ball high and inside over the left field wall to make the score 2-0 Wahpeton. It was a 3-0 game before the seventh inning when Wahpeton exploded for three more runs to make the final 3-0.

In Game Two it was much of the same for Wahpeton, their third consecutive shut out. Wahpeton Post 20 has not allowed a run in their past 24 innings. On the mound to start was Jayden King who went to work early, striking out seven and only allowing three hits in three and two- thirds innings of work. Nick Zach came in to close, finishing the game for Wahpeton. Post 20’s four run second inning was the catalyst to the decisive victory. Kappes, Uhlich, King and Hockert all drove in a runs to get the offense going.

On the base path, Post 20 continues to tear it up. Kappes was able to snag one steal in game one and two steals in game two to lead the way for Wahpeton.

And Jackson Fliflet was behind the plate for both of the games in Fargo. At the dish, Fliflet got it done going 1-3 with a run scored in game one and in game two doubling on a 2-2 count to score a run for Post 20.

Post 20’s next game is on Friday in the Perham tournament where they will be taking on a team from Delano, Minnesota. First pitch is at 4:30pm on B92.7.
