Brett Lambrecht was voted in as Wahpeton’s new mayor on Tuesday, June 14. Lambrecht, who received 53.29 percent of the vote with 737 of 1,383, defeated incumbent mayor Steve Dale (334 votes), lawyer Nicholas Nelson (168) and councilman Jason Goltz (143).

Incumbent Kelly McNary (992) and Cory Unruh (618) were the winners of the two city council positions with incumbent councilman Lane Wateland (475) and Nicole Colon (357) falling short.

Advancing to the November primary for Richland County’s sheriff were Gary Ruhl (1,188) and Jason Weber (851). Blaine O’Hara will not advance after receiving 597 votes.

Also advancing to the November primary are Cynthia Schreiber Beck and Kathy Skroch, who won the District 25 Republican primary for the North Dakota House.

The incumbent Wahpeton Park Board commissioners, Brian Watson (942) and Debra Tobias (836), were re-elected. Cortney Mann was also elected to the board (767) with Zachary Hatting not making the board with 666 votes.

The Road and Bridge Excess Levy 39 passed with 1,957 votes to 576 votes for no.

The four county commissioners, Terry Goerger, Nathan Berseth, Rowland Ehlert and Sid Berg, were all re-elected after running unopposed.
