Monday was day one of the Class B Region tournament from Ed Werre Arena at NDSCS with Enderlin, Oak Grove, Central Cass and Kindred all moving on to play tonight in the Region Semi Finals

The Enderlin Eagles were able to win and advance in the Region 1 Boys Tournament taking down the Richland Colts 79-52. Eagles standout big man Joe Hurlbet had a game high 38 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Gus Hulbert had 17 and junior Carson Batholomay had 13 to round out the Eagles double digit scorers. Theodore Flaa led the way for the Colts scoring 15 points. 

The 4-5 matchup was just as exciting, with the Oak Grove Grovers getting the upset win over the Sargent County Bulldogs 79-74. The Bulldogs were able to get a one point lead in the first quarter, but with the help of foul shooting and physical defense Oak Grove went on a 17-0 run to take a lead that they would never give up. Senior Trevon Rodriguez had 28 points and Junior Rylee Bakkegard had 22 to set the table for the Grovers to play later today. The Bulldogs were led by Junior Gaven Christianson 17 points and 8 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

The 2 seed Central Cass made easy work of Lisbon, taking down the Broncos 58-38. Senior Jake Deutsch had 18 points for the Central Cass Squirrels, with Sophomore Carter Vrchota adding 12 and Junior Sam Kobbervig scoring 11. Senior Caleb Olson had 15 points and 8 rebounds in the  Bronco loss. 

The nightcap saw the Kindred Vikings advancing to the semi final taking down Northern Cass 65-45. Senior Paul Olson was the leading scorer with 21 and three blocks. Senior Brock Carpenter led the Jags with 12 points to finish his career with Northern Cass. 

The Enderlin Eagles and Oak Grove Grovers face off at 6pm Tuesday night in the first game of the Semi Finals. The last time the two teams faced off, Enderlin was able to get the 89-61 home victory. 

At 7:30, the Central Cass Squirrels meet up in the other semi final game to take on the Kindred Vikings. The game will be a match up of two top five Class B teams with the winner having a chance to punch their ticket to state on Thursday.
