The Breckenridge Cowgirls couldn’t slow down Fergus Falls’ high-powered backcourt in a 75-43 loss to the Otters on Wednesday. The game was for third place in the Holiday Tournament hosted by Fergus Falls.

Minnesota State University of Moorhead commit Tori Ratz knocked down a whopping eight triples on her way to 33 points.

Ellie Colbeck, who has committed to play for South Dakota State next year, racked up 25 points.

The Cowgirls got eight points apiece from Carcie Materi and Kelsey Ceroll. Breckenridge trailed by nine at halftime and after a 15-0 run by the Otters to start the second half, Ceroll broke the scoring drought with a pair of triples.

Next up for the Cowgirls is a 6 p.m. Tuesday home battle with East Grand Forks.
