The Breckenridge Cowgirls came up short in the opening game of the Fergus Falls Holiday Tournament, losing to Watertown-Mayer Royals 58-45. The Cowgirls had trouble all night with the Royals tough defense, getting trapped against the Zone and not knowing what to do with the ball when they picked up their dribble. Breckenridge led at halftime 18-16, but a second half run by the Royals would put the game out of reach.
