On Monday the National Junior College Athletic Association named their 2021 NJCAA Division III All American Football team. Of all the Junior College athletes across the country, North Dakota State College of Science was able to claim four Wildcats among those honored.
The Wildcats had three first team All Americans and one second team. Freshmen Offensive Linemen Ethan Lyons from Lisbon was on the first team offense. Fellow Freshmen, Defensive Linemen Sylvester Ware IV and Punter Nikolas Hunchak were also named on the first team defense and special teams.
Ware IV finished the season with 53 tackles and nine sacks, leading a Wildcat defense that was disruptive all season. The Wildcats allowed only 17 points per game and finished the year 9-1 before losing in the Semi Finals of the playoffs to Minnesota State Community and Technical Collage.
Sophomore Linebacker Jaderian Johnson was named a Second Team All American after his impressive season. Johnson had 50 total tackles, 4.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Johnson graduated this month, but has not yet enrolled in another program
