The Breckenridge-Wahpeton boys hockey team opened their season on Saturday with a home loss to Bagley-Fosston by a score of 8-2.

The Blades fell behind 3-1 in the opening period and trailed 6-1 after two.

Josh Hofman scored the first goal of the season off the assist from Jace Johanson and Nick Zach.

Trey Vogelbacher found the net in the final period when his team was trailing 8-1 with Jack Rittenour picking up the assist.

Noah Pfeiff had 24 saves for the Blades in the loss.

The Blades head to Willmar for their first road game of the season at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
