Five Wahpeton Huskies earned All-Conference honors while Blake Schafer was named the Outstanding Senior Athlete for the Class A EDC.

Schafer was honored as a co-recipient of the North Dakota Class A Outstanding Senior Athlete at the Dakota Bowl after his record-setting campaign at quarterback. He tossed for 2,752 yards and 32 scores while also running in seven touchdowns, totaling 39 TDs in Wahpeton’s 10 games.

Joining Schafer on the All-Conference Team were his fellow seniors Tori Uhlich and Hunter Owens along with juniors Caden Kappes and Beau Arenstein.

Uhlich hauled in 44 passes for 722 yards, which was fifth in the conference for receiving yards. He was also fifth in the conference for receiving touchdowns with seven. His impact was also felt in the secondary where he led the conference with four interceptions.

Owens was an anchor for the defense at linebacker all season long to earn his spot on the All-Conference Team.

Kappes had a monster season on both sides of the ball, leading the conference in receiving touchdowns with 19 while also finishing third in the conference in tackles with 75.5 total stops. He had the third most total TDs in the EDC and the third most receiving yards with 879.

Arenstein was the third Wahpeton pass catcher to make the team, ending the year fourth in the conference in receiving yards with 764. He was also eighth in the EDC for tackles with 60 total on the year.
