Wahpeton quarterback Blake Schafer was honored as a Co-Outstanding Senior Athlete at the Dakota Bowl on Friday. Schafer shared the award with Brit Senftner of Bismarck St. Mary’s.

Schafer’s third year as a full-time starter for the Huskies saw him throw for 2,752 yards in 10 games. He had a four-to-one TD to interception ratio with 32 touchdown passes to eight interceptions.

Schafer also had 356 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground.

The senior helped the Huskies to the playoffs and they ended their season with a record of 5-5.
