The Breckenridge volleyball team’s historic season came to an end on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to Legacy Christian Academy in the Minnesota Class A Volleyball Tournament Consolation Championship. The Cowgirls advanced to the round by sweeping South Ridge the night before.

The match began with Breckenridge’s lone set win by a score of 26-24. It was all Legacy Christian the rest of the way with set wins of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-21.

All-State hitter Camryn Kaehler led the way with 17 kills. She was also second on the team in aces with two and digs with 19.

Abby Johnson was second on the team in kills with a dozen while also registering a team-high three aces.

Riley Finkral led the defensive effort with 29 digs while Tori Undem and Ana Erickson each assisted on three blocks.

Carcie Materi ended the match with 21 assists while Sophie Larson came through for 19.

The Cowgirls bid farewell one of the most successful senior classes in school history. Materi, Lauren Beyer, Morgan Bruns, Kaehler, Erickson, Larson, Undem and Finkral end their senior campaign with a record of 30-4 with several school records set in the process. Their overall record from their freshman year through now was 75-31 and they also ended a 41-year state tournament drought this year.
