The Breckenridge Cowgirls punched their ticket to the Section 6A Championship with a 3-2 thriller win over Henning on Thursday in the North Sub-Section Championship. The set scores were 17-25, 34-32, 20-25, 25-18 and 15-5 in Fergus Falls.
Abby Johnson and Camryn Kaehler spiked home 23 and 20 kills, respectively. Kaehler also racked up 30 digs in the victory, second on the team to Riley Finkral’s 43. Finkral was also the team leader in aces with three.
Carcie Materi and Sophie Larson dished out 29 and 27 assists, respectively.
At least six Cowgirl blockers got a hand on a block with Ana Erickson assisting on four of the team’s seven blocks.
The Cowgirls face Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 7 p.m. Saturday in Fergus Falls.
