The Breckenridge-Wahpeton cross-country teams ran in the Dale Skallerrud Memorial Hawley Invite Cross Country Meet, which featured six schools in each race. The Storm girls took third while the boys team finished fourth.

Aidan Ruddy and Luke Baumgartner were each in the top 10 for the BW boys. Ruddy took fourth in 18:55 and Baumgartner was one spot back with a time of 19:14.

Jaxon Hill finished as the Storm’s third runner in 18th place in 20:35. Bryce Awender (20:57) took 22nd place, running his best race of the season. Seventh grader, Troy Berndt, ran his first varsity race to finish 29th in 21:37. Jonathon Hill was right behind him in 21:45.

Kiera Wiertzema just missed a top-10 finish, taking 11th in 22:34. She was followed by Aubrey Bosen and Rachel Gowin who took 14th and 16th respectively. Bosen had a time of 23:11 while Gowin finished the race in 23:36.

Adi Dodge (24:50) and Jazmyn Benedict (25:30) rounded out the scoring in 24th and 25th place, respectively.

The Storm host this year’s Heart O’ Lakes Conference Meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Bois de Sioux Golf Course.
