Wahpeton Superintendent Rick Jacobson announced on Monday that he is retiring at the end of the school year.
Jacobson’s retirement is effective June 30 of next year and was approved by the Wahpeton School Board with a 7-0 vote. He spent 12 years as Wahpeton’s superintendent and 41 total years in education.
Wahpeton Public Schools are expected to formally look for his replacement this fall. They begin the school year on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
