Wahpeton Post 20 ended its regular season with a split at Devils Lake on Friday, losing 2-1 in the first game before taking the second by a 7-2 score.

Wahpeton finishes regular season play at 29-6 and 17-5 in Class A East Region play. Post 20 will be either the No. 1 or 2 seed for the East Region tournament starting Wednesday in Kindred. Wahpeton will find out its seeding on Sunday.

In the first game Friday. Tori Uhlich gave up just two runs on nine hits in taking the loss for Post 20.

Wahpeton’s offense had eight hits but produced just one run, that coming on back-to-back triples by Uhlich and Caden Kappes in the seventh inning. Wahpeton left eight men on in the game, including five in scoring position.

Kappes had three hits and Uhlich two in the game.

In the second game, Wahpeton took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed.

Jackson Fliflet drove in the two runs in the first, with Wahpeton scoring its third run in the fourth on an error.

Wahpeton then scored four times in the seventh. Two runs scored on errors while Caden Hockert knocked in the other two with a two-run double.

Ethan Manock finished with three hits on offense.

Isaac Loosmore went 4 1/3 innings on the mound to get the win, giving up one earned run and striking out five. Kappes worked the final 2 2/3 innings for the save, striking out five and not allowing a base hit.
