Wahpeton picked up two more victories to get their win streak to 16 games, beating the West Fargo Vets on the road by scores of 4-3 and 6-3 on Wednesday.

Both teams put a run on the board in the opening inning of the first game and the game stayed knotted at 1-1 until a three-run fifth inning from Post 20. Caden Hockert gave Wahpeton the lead with an RBI sacrifice fly, Isaac Loosmore had an RBI single and later scored on a passed ball to cap off the rally.

Loosmore, Caden Kappes and Hunter Wamre each had two hits in the opener. Loosmore had two RBIs.

Hockert tossed six innings to get the win, surrendering three runs off seven hits and two walks. Ethan Manock took care of the final inning, striking out two in a one-two-three inning.

Game two saw the Vets jump out to a three-run lead in the first, but they were shut out the rest of the way. Wahpeton pulled within a run with two runs in the fifth and pulled ahead with a four-run sixth.

Loosmore was the only Post 20 player with multiple hits in another two-hit outing while seven of the other starters had one hit.

The Vets had four errors and only two of the runs they allowed were earned.

Jayden King pitched the first four innings and Loosmore finished out the game. King picked up the win with three runs given up off two hits and three walks. He also beamed two batters. Loosmore gave up two hits and a walk in his three innings of shutout work.

Post 20 is now 24-2 and are playing in the Clark, S.D., tournament this weekend. Wahpeton plays Mobridge and Salem today.
